Final Fantasy VII starts in a town called Midgar. Your a soldier who has come to help Avalanche save the world by stopping the reactors in Midgar. According to them Shinra Electric Company have been draining the planet's life forces. Will you stop the reactor you're helping Avalanche take down or will Shinra defeat them?

This is the first game in the series to not be on a Nintendo console. With three Playstation One discs you can see why, think of the amount of cartridges that three discs would need? Also it was the first game that didn't use a small amount of pixels to make a character, they used a series of shapes to make each one which lead the way for other games to take that technology and improve on it (look at FF8/9). It started to use the resources that the PSX/One can do.

There are now several spin offs of the series including a movie, a PS2 game, a PSP game and many more. A lot of fans wish for the game to be re-created for the PS3 but Square Enix is not saying wither or not they are doing it. Some say they won't but some say they will the only way we are going to find out is from them.
